Homemade Guacamole



Homemade Guacamole
makes 1 cup

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 ripened avocado
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons chunky medium salsa
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • juice from 1/2 lime

DIRECTIONS
  1. Using a knife, cut one avocado in half around its pit. Split the avocado into two pieces, and use the same knife to hollow out the pit.  Use a spoon to scoop out the green fruit, and use a fork to mash the avocado in a small bowl.
  2. Add salsa, salt, pepper, and lime juice to the bowl. 
  3. Stir everything together until the mixture is at your desired consistency.  Serve with tortilla chips.
*If not serving immediately, stick the avocado pit in the middle of your mixture to keep it from browning. Use clear plastic wrap to cover the bowl and store in the refrigerator.
